Homemade Liquid Laundry Soap

This will save you money. Once all is purchased a 5 gallon bucket of soap will give many wash loads and cost around 1 to 2 dollars!

We purchased an automobile funnel for changing engine oil. Any auto parts store or even the large chain stores have them. Reason for this funnel is, the funnel has a large throat and will allow our homemade laundry soap to pass through the funnel into the container we keep it in without problems.

Homemade liquid laundry soap
Ingredients:
1 five gallon bucket with lid (We purchased ours at Lowes.)
1 long handled plastic stirring spoon or fork.
1 large plastic cup.
1 large automobile engine oil funnel.
1/2 cup Dawn Dishwashing Liquid Soap.
1 cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda.
1 cup Borax.

Directions:
Fill a five-gallon bucket half full of hot water.
Add 1/2 cup Dawn Dishwashing Liquid Soap.
Add 1 cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda.
And 1 cup Borax.
Stir well until all powder is dissolved.
Fill the bucket to top with more hot water and stir.
The soap is now ready to be used in the washing machine.
Fill a used empty commercial liquid laundry soap container with your home made soap. Here is where you will use the large automobile funnel. Shake your homemade washing soap before each use.
Using the plastic container cap that comes with the commercial brand liquid laundry soap container use 1 to 2 caps full per load.

We keep a large plastic yoghurt cup in the 5 gallon bucket to use when time to refill the used commercial laundry soap container. Letting it float around inside the 5 gallon bucket along with the long handled plastic stirring spoon or fork is fine and we don’t have to search and try to find one when needed.

Note: 1 ounce of skin safe fragrance oil can be added to this 5 gallon solution such as Blue Skies, Camay Soap Type, Dove Soap Type, Downy april Fresh, Fresh Linen, Fresh Snow, Gain Original Type, Irish Spring Type, Pink Magnolia Blossom ETC.
